Establish Somerset and Pulaski County as the regional center for business location and economic development in south central Kentucky.

The Foundation is looking for good corporate citizens to achieve this mission while utilizing the area’s available assets to create a strong partnership.

The Foundation’s beneficial activities are varied and well coordinated. Attracting industry that will compliment the existing quality of life is a goal.  Their work reflects the common goals of the community in their desire to bring the best jobs to Somerset and Pulaski County.

The Development Foundation works with other government bodies and community organizations interested in the economy, such as the Chamber of Commerce, the Tourist Commission, Downtown Development and city and county government.  The Foundation is funded by an occupational tax, which reflects the community’s commitment to a financially strong economic development program.

The Foundation also networks with state agencies, financial institutions, utilities and other entities to ensure your smooth location here.  Their expertise and knowledge of available incentives, grants and tax advantages is expansive

Existing businesses also benefit from the Foundation’s activities.  A program known as PEAK, (Pulaski Expansion, Advantage Kentucky) is an ongoing project that surveys local business and industry needs. Company executives are interviewed and any red flag issues are addressed by a specially selected task force.  The Industrial Consortium is a group of Pulaski County industries that work together to identify similar needs in training for the existing industry, the Foundation will be better able to sustain a healthy local economy and provide for the needs of new companies starting production in Pulaski County
